Exposed power lines formed an undevelopable corridor along Torpagatan, a street in Gothenburg, in spite of being adjacent to a residential area and very close to Östra Hospital, a major employer.

We saw the potential and developed proposals for a better use of the land made possible by burying the power lines. So far, Egnahemsbolaget has built more than twenty row houses on the site. At present, 125 apartments are under construction by HSB, 170 by Poseidon, and one assisted living unit by BMSS. A large new preschool has been built to replace an older one.

The upside is obvious. Society benefits when vacant land is improved with housing in an attractive location close to nature, city, and a major healthcare center.
