Västerport is an upcoming new district next to the sea in Varberg as the industrial port, railway and station area are moved. DP, together with Johannes Norlander Arkitektur, has been assigned a land allotment, 2019, on a triangular plot next to the main street and the square; lot 12 in the first construction phase.
The solution is a three- to six-storey building of 5,000 m2, of which 1,000 m2 will consist of business premises such as shops and cafés and the remaining area housing. The solution has a strong sustainability perspective based on wood. The roofs will have arable terraces and green areas of sedum.
In the autumn of 2021, a collaboration agreement was signed between Kynningsrud Bostäder, DP and Johannes Norlander Arkitektur, which means that additional development competence and stability will be added to the implementation phase.
